ki and ka
Househusbands are a rare breed in India. But isn’t it delightful to see a man whose only ambition in life is to take care of his house while his wife brings in the money home. Such role reversals are barely seen in the very patriarchal India.
Ki and Ka speaks of a similar story where Kareena Kapoor wears the ‘pants’ in the relationship while her lover Arjun Kapoor is content handling the house.
The just released trailer is what one could term as a fun watch. It is simple, the lead pair are delectable to watch and the comic situations and lines are entertaining without suffering from the usual over the top malaise.
As always, R. Balki has directed a concept not quite explored in Indian cinema. The love story spun between Kareena and Arjun is skilfully woven through role reversals. From displaying Arjun chopping vegetables to him shying away from sex citing exhaustion even as Kareena demands it (of course Arjun finally gives in), Ki and Ka beautifully packs all things needed for an entertaining watch.
baahubali 2 release date
SS Rajamouli and Prabhas' "Bahubali 2" (Baahubali: The Conclusion) is confirmed to release on April 14, 2017. It is likely to clash with the multilingual "2.0", starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.
The abrupt ending of "Bahubali: The Beginning" had created a lot of curiosity around the second instalment, and also led to speculations about its release date. Rumour mongers are silenced when Bollywood critic Taran Adarsh revealed the official release date of "Bahubali 2" on his Twitter page.
The latest speculation on social media is "Bahubali 2" will clash with Rajinikanth's "2.0". April 14, 2017 happens to be the Tamil New Year (Puthandu), and the makers of "2.0", who have planned to release it next year, are said to be eyeing this date. This festival is auspicious and a good season for a Tamil film in terms of box office collections.
Both "Bahubali: The Conclusion" and "2.0" are sequels to blockbusters movies — "Bahubali: The Beginning" and "Endhiran" ("Robot"), respectively. Both are being made with massive budgets, and the makers have very high hopes from them. If the two are released on the same date, they are sure to erode each others' shares and suffer losses.
"Bahubali: The Conclusion" is reportedly being made with a whopping budget of Rs 180 crore, while the budget of "Robot 2" is estimated to be nearly double Rs 350 crore. Given their budgets and the massive collection of their originals, they are expected to collect more than Rs 600 crore gross each at the worldwide box office.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the producers of "2.0" choose April 14, 2017 as its release date. If they do so, the reaction of the makers of "Bahubali: The Conclusion" will also be worth following. Stay tuned with us to read more updates on these projects.

shiva ganga movie review
Story: Siva (Sriram) and Ganga (Raai Lakshmi) fall in love with each other during their college days and plan to get married with their parents’ consent. Their love story comes to a tragic end when Godhra Seth (Suman), who lent Siva’s father some loan kills Siva, his family and Ganga. Siva and Ganga become ghosts and take their revenge on Seth. The story has an interesting twist in the form of Shankar, who tries to win the ghost Ganga’s love. Who is this Shankar ? How do Sivaganga avenge their killings ? and what happens to Shankar forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points: The major plus points of the film are the love story between Siva and Ganga, villain’s track and the tragic killings of Siva and Ganga. Sriram and Raai Lakshmi give top notch performances and surprise the audience. The revenge track where the ghosts of Siva and Ganga avenge their death is executed nicely. VFX work creates a huge impact in the film. Sriram’s villainous act in Shankar’s role and his characterization arrests the audiences big time. The interval twist raises the excitement levels for the film’s second half. The director executed the back and forth narrative with total clarity. The main twist revealed in the second half, comedy scenes, and Suman’s villainous are impressive.
Minus Points: The film suffers mainly from lack of a strong story and audience will be disappointed with the routine drama. The done to death horror plot where lead actors become ghosts and avenge their killings hampers the viewing experience. Also, the absence of refreshing revenge scenes makes this film like any other horror film. The film’s comedians irritate with their inane comic antics. Songs are major speed breakers to the proceedings. Climax is a major let down. Technical Aspects: Srinivas Reddy’s cinematography stands out and creates the perfect effect in certain scenes. Coming to the director Vadivudaiyan, he has done a pretty ordinary job with the film. Even though he narrated some scenes well, the story and proceedings are quite routine and outdated. John Peter’s background score highlights the horror effect well. Editing is neat. Verdict:- Nine out of the ten horror films which release these days, are based on some revenge story or the other. Same is the case with this week’s release Shiva Ganga as well. The film which has top notch performance by hero Sriram is quite outdated and has no thrilling horror elements at all and can be ignored completely this weekend.
kalyana vaibhogam movie review
Shourya (Naga Shourya) is a game developer and his aim is to start a million dollar company. But his grandmother’s wish is to get him married as soon as possible. Divya (Malavika Nair) is a bright medical student. Her orthodox father wants to marry her off. Elders fix marriage of Shourya and Divya to each other. But they say no because they don’t want to get married. Later Shourya comes up with a plan so that they can marry and apply divorce. Both of them comes to an internal agreement and gives a go ahead to their parents. Rest of the story is all about what happens after marriage.
Artists Performance
Kalyana Vaibhogame jeevi reviewActors: Naga Shourya has done a role with lot of weight in the film and he justifies. Malavika Nair is pretty natural with her work. Raasi has done the role of placid wife. Aishwarya does an innocent mother’s role. Her voice is pretty odd. Raj Madhiraj is competent as the father of hero. Anand is adequate as stern man. Pragathi does well with a funny accent and posh looks as a matrimony lady. Among the small characters, Gemini Suresh impresses with his dialect.
Kalyana Vaibhogame jeevi reviewStory - screenplay - direction: Story of the film is about a boy and girl going for an artificial marriage with an internal agreements to divorce quickly. This kind of story is not touched often in Telugu films. A film of this type should be trendy and contemporary to make it interesting. But, director Nandini Reddy came up with predictable screenplay and familiar scenes. She has tilted towards family orientation while treating the film. Emotions (regarding parents angst) are dealt well towards climax. The punjabi family thread in second half is uninteresting. The concept heroine getting jealous by looking at hero with a hot girl is an age-old formula.
Kalyana Vaibhogame jeevi reviewOther departments: Cinematography by GVS Raju is alright. Wedding song scored by Kalyan Koduri is good. Background music is okay. Dialogue about sanctity wedding (mouthed by Anand in pre-climax) is well written by Lakshmi Bhoopal, but there are too many dialogues in the film by making it verbose. Editing is okay. Production values are fine, but we expect slickness and vibrancy in visuals for a film of this nature.
Kalyana Vaibhogame jeevi reviewAnalysis: Kalyana Vaibhogame is a film that explains the sanctity of marriage.. Novelty and freshness are the order of the day. Plus points of the film are novel story and actors performances. On the flip side, slow-paced narration coupled with predictable screenplay and excessive dialogues makes the movie sluggish. The success of the film depends on the patronage of family crowds.
